“The Father Wound” is a piece that harnessed a lot of rage and repressed emotions stemming from childhood. It is a soul piece that helped me heal parts of my own story and released attachments to the stories assigned to me that were never mine to begin with. For the inner child who never felt good enough, lovable or worthy. It is a reminder that other people’s shame is not mine to bear. The original painting is a mixed media acrylic, watercolor and dried flower parts on a 16”x 20” canvas.
